S. Corinna Bille

Stéphanie Bille was born in 1912 in Sierre, Switzerland. She will chose later the name of Corinna, from her mother’s original village, Corin, near Sierre. She lived in Paris a few years, travelled a lot, and came back in the Valais where environment and human into mutation, inspired her work. S. Corinna Bille wrote novels and short stories. She won the Goncourt award for best short story in 1975 with her book “La Demoiselle sauvage”, published by Gallimard. She also published poems, plays and tales. She was married to Maurice Chappaz. She died in Sierre, the 24th of october in 1979.
