Born in 1983 in Alicante, Spain, Ximo Abadía (real name Joaquim Abadia Pérez) is one of the most talented Spanish illustrators of his generation. His book The vegetable garden, published by La Joie de lire, was selected as one of the 10 best illustrated books of 2019 by The New York Times and The New York Public Library.
