Gérard Salem describes fictional encounters with suffering adolescents – encounters inspired by his own professional experience. In each chapter, the story of another patient is told. During the conversation with a therapist the teenager, sometimes accompanied by one of his parents, explains his uneasiness, anorexia, problems at school… These conversations give the adolescents a chance to relieve their anger against society, school, their parents, authority; a rage sometimes violent, a desperate call for help. The therapist defuses situations with the right words and quite often in a humorous way. The book features very strong dialogues and in the beginning of each chapter Salem quotes the lyrics of Serge Gainsbourg’s ‘Je suis venu vous dire..’ (‘I came to tell you…’).
