Born in 1951, Martine Laffon holds a doctorate in philosophy. She is the editor of the “Philo Seuil” and “Le temps de rêver” collections at Éditions du Seuil, and responsible for the French adaptation of Jostein Gaarder’s global bestseller Le Monde de Sophie (Sophie’s World) (Seuil, 2001). Martine Laffon has long been interested in mythology and epics, and has written numerous books for children and adults. Her novels for young people have been published by La Martinière jeunesse, Fourmis rouges and Flammarion jeunesse.
